For the most part they are run by people I know and, in particular, they are people who love this city and who have contributed to it in a number of ways.
In short, I think they deserve support and I’d recommend them to anyone.

Hanoi Cooking Centre – A quality, attention to detail, type place run by the exceptional Tracey Lister. It’s a café, it’s cooking classes, it’s street food and market tours. Tracey was one of the earliest volunteers at street kid restaurant KOTO and it’s continued success is thanks, in part, to the groundwork she put in place that has allowed it to grow.
The set-up there is beautifully carried out and if you want to learn about Vietnamese food then who better to turn to than someone who has written extensively on the subject.
